I am a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University. Before joining Tsinghua, I was a tenured Associate Professor at Simon Fraser University. My research focuses on building next-generation data science systems that empower everyone to extract reliable insights from any kind of data. Specifically, I am currently interested in three research topics:
- Multi-modal Data Science Engine — Building high-performance, python-native engines for multi-modal data processing.
- Data Science Agent — Developing AI agents to autonomously complete data science tasks, from data collection to insight generation.
- Knowledge Lake — Creating semantic-rich data lakes where AI agents can operate and evolve knowledge.
